EPA Amends NESHAP for Coal- and Oil-Fired Electric Utility Steam Generating Units

Summary: EPA is proposing to repeal specific amendments to the NESHAP for Coal- and Oil-Fired Electric Utility Steam Generating Units (EGUs) (40 CFR 63, Subpart UUUUU), issued on May 7, 2024 (89 FR 38508). These include the revised filterable particulate matter (fPM) emission standard for existing coal-fired EGUs, amendments to the fPM compliance demonstration requirements, and the updated mercury (Hg) emission standard for lignite-fired EGUs.
